After a tremendous weekend at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede, the WPCA Pro Tour moved on to Wainwright, Alberta, for the running of the Wainwright Stampede. Despite some wind and light precipitation, Mother Nature held off, providing near-perfect conditions for an exciting opening night of chuckwagon racing. By the end of the evening, it was Logan Gorst who claimed the Kirk’s Trail Tire Wheels on Fire Fast Time of the Night with a run of 1:03.27.

Driving from barrel number two in the eleventh heat, Gorst guided the Heart Lake First Nation Construction outfit to the night’s top time, finishing 34 one-hundredths of a second ahead of Rae Croteau Jr. Jamie Laboucane posted the third-fastest time, Troy Dorchester was fourth, and Preston Faithful rounded out the top five. Gorst returns to Wainwright as the reigning champion, having captured the 2024 Wainwright Stampede title in the event’s final season as part of the Canadian Professional Chuckwagon Association (CPCA) circuit.

Night 2 of the Wainwright Stampede can be heard live on Friday, June 19, 2026, on WPCA Radio on 96.5 The Ranch beginning at 7:00 p.m. Eastern, 6:00 p.m. Central, and 5:00 p.m. Mountain. Fans can also listen through the WPCA website, iHeartRadio, and Radioplayer Canada, while live video coverage will be available via the WPCA livestream at watch.wpca.com.
