It was another outstanding night of chuckwagon racing for the 18 drivers competing at the Teepee Creek Stampede, as those not participating in the Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby presented by Play Alberta took to the track under cloudy skies and a pleasant 18°C evening. With track conditions remaining excellent, times were once again quick, and when the dust settled, D.J. King captured the Kirk’s Trail Tire Wheels on Fire Fast Time of the Night after posting the fastest run of the race meet so far with a time of 0:56.00.

Driving the Davidson Homes outfit from barrel number one in the fifth heat, King stopped the clock six-tenths of a second faster than opening night winner Luke Tournier. Doug Irvine’s second outfit finished third on the night, followed by D.J. DeSutter in fourth, while Calvin Fiddler rounded out the top five.

After two nights of competition, Luke Tournier and the Dynamic Energy Group Ltd. outfit continue to lead the overall standings with a two-run aggregate time of 1:52.73, giving them a commanding 2.5-second advantage over day money winner D.J. King. D.J. DeSutter sits third overall, while Doug Irvine’s second and first outfits occupy fourth and fifth place respectively, setting the stage for an exciting final day of competition.

The 2026 Teepee Creek Stampede champion will be determined by the best three-day aggregate time. The final day of racing takes place on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
