The 2025 WPCA AWARDS BANQUET will be held on Saturday October 18th at the Carriage House Inn Calgary.
The WPCA Awards Banquet is a year-end celebration that recognizes people and equine athletes for their success, contribution, and impact on the WPCA and the sport of chuckwagon racing.
This year, we are inviting our fans to nominate who they believe deserves one of the awards below.

AWARDS AND DETAILS
Media Award
Public nominations are sent in by Members and non-members. Nominees should consist of an individual, group, or company recognized for excellence in reporting and promoting the events of the WPCA and chuckwagon racing to the public at large through the various types of media. The recipient is selected by the Board of Directors.
Award: Olson Silver Buckle
Race Committee Award
Public nominations are sent in by Members and non-members. Nominees should consist of race committees deserving recognition for outstanding efforts in accommodating the WPCA, its Members and chuckwagon fans through improvements to their overall show experience such as facilities, prize money, organization, etc. The recipient is selected by the Board of Directors.
Award: Plaque
Chuckwagon Person of the Year Award
Public nominations are sent in by Members and non-members. The award is open to anyone who has made outstanding and significant contributions to advancing and improving the overall status and integrity of the WPCA and the sport of chuckwagon racing. The recipient is selected by the Board of Directors.
Award: Bronze
Active Supporter Award
Public nominations are sent in by Members and non-members. The award is open to all supporters and fans, not just Members. Nominees should consist of an individual, group, or company in appreciation of their involvement, interest, and dedication to the WPCA, its members, or chuckwagon racing in general. The recipients (to a maximum of three) are selected by the Board of Directors.

Past Member Recognition/Special Tribute Award
Public nominations are sent in by Members and non-members. Nominees should consist of any past member (living or deceased) of the WPCA or its predecessor in recognition of their outstanding achievements, dedication, or contributions as they relate to the WPCA and chuckwagon racing in general. The recipient is selected by the Board of Directors.

George Normand Lifetime Builders Award
Public nominations are sent in by Members and non-members. Nominees should consist of individuals who have dedicated a minimum of five years of service to the sport of chuckwagon racing as a competitor, sponsor, or race official, or are somehow otherwise affiliated with the WPCA. Drivers and Outriders considered for the award must be retired from active competition. The award does not have to be presented each year. The recipient is selected by the Board of Directors.
