Obrey Motowylo – First Place On First Night In Bonnyville

After a successful opening weekend in Grande Prairie, the WPCA Pro Tour embarked on Bonnyville, Alberta for the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship. Chanse Vigen came into this year’s event as the defending champion. It was a very pleasant evening, and when night one wrapped up it was Obrey Motowylo who had the best time on the night after a penalty free run of 1:16.73.
Motowylo, driving the Choquet Insurance Group Ltd – The Co-operators Outfit, was the only driver to break the 1:17.00 mark and had the top time on the night, 84 one-hundredths of a second faster than Kris Molle who had to settle for second place on the night. Layne MacGillivray and Chad Fike split third and fourth, and Rae Croteau Jr. rounded out the top five on the night.
The top four drivers in the aggregate standings after Saturday night will go into the Championship Final Heat on Sunday afternoon.
