The WPCA Pro Tour stop at the Strathmore Stampede will feature a new championship format in 2024 that will put greater emphasis on consistency, speed and running penalty free over a short period of time. The format isn’t new to chuckwagon racing though. In fact, the format culminates with the most exciting race in the sport. It’s the “DASH FOR CASH”.
$25,000.00 will be on the line Monday August 5th in the Strathmore Stampede Dash for Cash. 36 drivers will have a chance at the cash and the title. The 4 drivers with the fastest cumulative time over the first 3 days (August 2nd – August 4th) will qualify for the championship. The addition of the Dash for Cash during the Strathmore Stampede adds to an impressive list of championship races planned for 2024. Currently, a total of 6 WPCA events are scheduled to have a championship dash.
Kurt Bensmiller is a 4-Time Strathmore Champion and feels the added dash for cash is a positive move for the sport. “Bringing a dash to the Strathmore Stampede is very exciting for the sponsors, fans and drivers” said Bensmiller, “It’s a big step towards Strathmore becoming one of our premier shows.”
