Night 2 of the Strathmore Stampede was run on an overcast Saturday evening with gentle rains falling throughout the evening, but it was just enough to settle the dust and didn’t damper anyone’s spirits. Racetrack conditions were once again very good, the stands were filled to maximum capacity, and some outstanding finishes were witnessed by the Strathmore chuckwagon fans. When things wrapped up for the evening, Kurt Bensmiller came out on top with the fast run of the night with a run of 1:14.83.

From barrel position number 4 in the 8th heat, Bensmiller, driving the Versatile Energy Services Ltd. rig were a large 1.08 seconds faster than Kirk Sutherland.  Chanse Vigen placed third, with Layne MacGillivray and Kris Molle filling out the top 5 on the night.

The day money run vaulted Kurt Bensmiller to the top of the overall aggregate standings with a two-day combined time of 2:31.95. That’s puts him 1.75 seconds ahead of Kris Molle, with Layne MacGillivray in third, Vern Nolin holding down fourth place overall and Kirk Sutherland completing the top five overall. The driver posting the best 4-day aggregate time will be crowned the 2022 Strathmore Heritage Days Stampede champion.

Night 3 of the Strathmore Stampede can be heard on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at 9:00pm ET, 8:00pm CT and 7:00pm MT on Real Country 910am.
