Sidelined for nearly 21 months, Professional Chuckwagon Racing returned on Canada Day as the 2021 World Professional Chuckwagon Association kicked off on Thursday night at the Dewberry World Chuckwagon Races. Kurt Bensmiller came into the 2021 season as the reigning World Champion Chuckwagon Driver having won four World Titles in the past five seasons.

It was a warm and windy evening under sunny skies, racetrack conditions were fast, and some spectacular chuckwagon races were seen by the Dewberry fans on opening night of the 2021 Professional Chuckwagon Season. When the night wrapped up it was Kris Molle who opened up the 2021 season with the fast time of the night with a fast run of 1:03.96.

Coming off barrel number 1 in heat number 8, Molle, driving the Benoit Oilfield Construction outfit placed first overall for the day by 3 tenths of a second over Cody Ridsdale who placed 2nd overall for the night. Layne MacGillivray’s number two wagon was third, with Jordie Fike taking the last two spots in the top five with his number two wagon in fourth, and his number one wagon in fifth.

The top 3 drivers in the aggregate after Saturday night will go into the $25,000.00 championship final heat on Sunday where the winner will claim the 2021 Dewberry World Chuckwagon Races Championship.

Day two of the Dewberry World Chuckwagon Races can be seen on Facebook  Live on the WPCA Facebook page on Friday night, July 2, 2021 starting at 7:00pm Mountain time.
