The third stop on the 2025 WPCA Pro Tour presented by GMC is in the books as the finals of the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede wrapped up on a beautiful Father’s Day afternoon on a fantastic racetrack with a classic Championship Final Heat that featured Chanse Vigen, Kurt Bensmiller and Rae Croteau Jr.. When the dust settled on what was an extremely exciting final, it was Chanse Vigen, driving the Volker Stevin Canada outfit, and along with outriders Rory Gervais and Trey MacGillivray who captured the 2025 Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Championship.

From barrel position number one in the Championship Final Heat number 12, Vigen edged out 2019 Medicine Hat Champion Kurt Bensmiller who placed second from barrel position number two by 47 one-hundredths of a second, followed by Rae Croteau Jr. who placed third from barrel number 3. It was the second consecutive year that Chanse Vigen has won the Medicine Hat crown.

As far as day results are concerned, it was Jamie Laboucane’s turn to win the Alberta AG Centre Fast Time of the Night from barrel number two in the eleventh heat. Laboucane’s Wild Rows Pump & Compression Ltd. outfit won top money for the night by 59 one-hundredths of a second margin over Chad Fike. Kris Molle would have shattered the track record with a 59.36 second running time and is believed to be the first man to break the one-minute mark on the Medicine Hat racetrack, however, he suffered a two-second penalty for having two late outriders and had to settle for third place on the day. Preston Faithful and Ross Knight filled out the top five runs of the afternoon.

The WPCA Pro Tour presented now moves onto Wainwright, Alberta for the running of the Wainwright Stampede starting on Friday, June 20, 2025 and running through Sunday, June 22, 2025. The Wainwright Stampede can be heard live starting at 7:00pm Eastern, 6:00pm Central, and 5:00pm Mountain time all three days on 96.5 The Ranch, or streaming options are available through the WPCA Website at wpca.com, iHeart Radio website/app or the Radioplayer Canada website/app.
