It was a warm and cloudy Sunday night, with decent racetrack conditions for day 3 of the Strathmore Stampede. It was the final night for the drivers to try and qualify for the championship final heat on Monday afternoon. When the evening was complete, Chanse Vigen, Jason Glass, Evan Salmond and Lane Tournier will be the four drivers bidding for the 2025 Strathmore Stampede Championship in the $30,000.00 Championship Final Heat.

Another first place run on the night kept Chanse Vigen atop of the overall aggregate standings with a three-day combined time of 3:46.06, followed by Jason Glass, 1.56 seconds behind the aggregate leader Vigen. Evan Salmond slipped one spot into third, with Lane Tournier holding onto the fourth and final qualifying spot in Monday’s final. Obrey Motowylo ended up in the crying hole, 28 one-hundredths of a second from a spot in Monday’s final.

As mentioned above, Chanse Vigen won the Alberta AG Centre Fast Time Of The Night for the second time in three runs after posting a 1:17.00 from barrel 3 in the 8th heat. Vigen’s Blackstone Drilling Fluids Ltd. outfit won the day money by a 15 one-hundredths of a second over Jason Glass, with Chad Fike placing third. Rae Croteau Jr.’s wagon, which was being driven by Chance Bensmiller placed fourth, with Ross Knight rounding out the top five on the night.

The Finals of the Strathmore Stampede can be heard Monday afternoon, August 4, 2025 on WPCA Radio starting 2:00pm Eastern, 1:00pm Central, and 12:00pm Mountain time on 96.5 The Ranch, or streaming options are available through the WPCA Website at wpca.com, iHeart Radio website/app or the Radioplayer Canada website/app.
