ANOTHER SELL OUT EXPECTED FOR BATTLE OF THE FOOTHILLS CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND

One week ago WPCA drivers were preparing for a 6 day battle in High River, Alberta. Now, with times in for 3 of the first 6 days, the focus becomes on preparing for victory. 
 
Chuckwagon racing fans had their own battle last weekend in High River as tickets to watch the WPCA became a hot commodity. Two of the three nights were sold out and with Championship weekend on the horizon, tickets will once again be popular.
 
“Tickets are selling fast” says High River Agricultural Society president Tanya Froh. “Saturday is definitely full already.”
 
 
Along with the battle for tickets, the battle on the track has been filled with energy and excitement for fans.
 
Chanse Vigen’s outfit launched off barrel 4 in heat 5 last Friday night then electrified the capacity crowd with a time of 1:18.57 to take the top time of the night.
 
Four-Time World Champion Kurt Bensmiller pulled off a similar performance on Saturday night when he fired off the same 4 barrel position in heat 5 then charged around the track to stop the clock with a top time of 1:17.44.
 
With Sunday’s races being postponed due to poor air quality, day 3 was moved to Monday.  Kirk Sutherland recorded the day money run with a time of 1:16.83.
 
Friday, July 23rd will be the last night for drivers to qualify for Semi-Final Saturday. 
 
Vern Nolin and Kurt Bensmiller have continued from where they left off in 2019 when the duo battled it out for the World Championship.  After 3 nights of racing, Nolin is in first place with an aggregate time of 3:55.09, while Bensmiller sits second with a time of 3:55.46.
 
Evan Salmond, Doug Irvine, Jordie Fike, Chanse Vigen, Layne MacGillivray and Kris Molle round out the top 8.  Dayton Sutherland and Kirk Sutherland are less than one second out of the 8th, and final, qualifying spot. بوكر اونلاين
 
 

The top 8 in the aggregate after Friday night’s races will go into the Semi-Final round on Saturday and compete in the final two heats of the evening. The top 4 times from the Semi-Final round on July 24th will go into the Championship Final Heat on Sunday, July 25th where the winner will take home the 2021 Battle of the Foothills Championship. الربح من برنامج like

WPCA drivers have expressed their appreciation for the support and energy fans have brought to the races.  Every race, the roar from the grandstand crowd raises the intensity as 4 wagons charge around the final turn to the finish line. لعبة كرات With full grandstands expected again this weekend, the same intensity and experience for fans is expected.

The Battle of the Foothills can be heard live on WPCA Radio starting 9:00pm Eastern, 8:00pm Central, and 7:00pm Mountain time on Rural Radio on SiriusXM Channel 147 Satellite Radio.
