Chanse Vigen – First Place In All Categories On Night 4 In Dawson Creek

The final 4 that will compete in Sunday’s $30,000.00 Championship Final Heat where the winner will take home the 2025 Battle of the North Championship has now been set. Chanse Vigen, Chance Bensmiller, Obrey Motowylo and Jason Glass will battle it out for the 2025 championship of Dawson Creek, British Columbia.
Chanse Vigen drove his Volker Stevin Canada outfit to first place overall after posting the best 4-day aggregate time of 4:53.18, and will receive a one-year lease of a 2025 GMC Truck courtesy of Banister GM Dawson Creek. Chance Bensmiller qualified in 2nd place overall 1.88 seconds behind the Vigen wagon, with Obrey Motowylo qualifying in 3rd place overall, and Jason Glass – who overcame a three-second penalty on night 3 – and regained 4th place overall to grab the final spot in Sunday’s final. Evan Salmond slipped back into 5th place overall and narrowly missed a spot in Sunday’s championship final by 46 one-hundreds of a second. All four drivers in the Championship Final Heat are former Battle of the North Champions – Vigen in 2019, Bensmiller in 2008, Motowylo in 2021 and Glass in 1999.
On the day, and for the third consecutive day, Chanse Vigen will receive the Alberta AG Centre Fast Time of the Night after recording a run of 1:12.78 from barrel number 1 in the 9th heat. For the second consecutive night Chance Bensmiller placed second overall on the night, exactly one-half second behind the day winner Chanse Vigen. Jason Glass, Kurt Bensmiller and Kris Molle rounded out the top five runs on the evening.
