Success is a journey and the journey to succeed on the 2023 WPCA Pro Tour started May 31st in Grande Prairie and concluded on August 27th at the Century Downs Racetrack and Casino World Finals. Show champions were recognized along the way, horses showcased their talents to thousands of fans and in the end the WPCA experienced another successful season.
On Saturday October 28th the World Professional Chuckwagon Association will officially close out the 2023 season during the Awards Banquet at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino in Calgary, Alberta. The Awards Banquet is an annual event where fans, sponsors, competitors, volunteers, families and friends come together to celebrate success and recognize people for their positive impact on the WPCA and sport of chuckwagon racing.
One of the most coveted awards in chuckwagon racing to be presented is the World Championship Bronze. In 2023, the race for the World Championship came right down to a battle between Jamie Laboucane and Chanse Vigen. In the end, Vigen held on to win the title by 3 points to capture his first World Championship. Chanse Vigen will be presented the Championship Bronze and a Trophy Buckle at the Awards Banquet.
Ethan Motowylo will officially be presented his World Champion Outriding Buckle and Bronze while other competitors and people associated with the sport will be recognized for their achievements.
