If there is one breakfast favorite that matches up with the World Professional Chuckwagon Association and the history of chuckwagon racing, it’s pancakes. The history of pancakes spans back thousands of years, and it was a meal served by cooks out of chuckwagons to ranch hands while out on the range. To this day, western festivals continue to serve pancakes as part of their events, and chuckwagons remain a main part of it.
Tomorrow, March 4th, is National Pancake Day in Canada, so it’s fitting that today, the WPCA is pleased to announce our new partnership with IHOP Canada. Like fans getting ready for a chuckwagon race, it’s time to get excited for IHOP’s National Pancake Day for a good cause. Participating IHOP locations across Canada will be offering FREE short stack buttermilk pancakes with a donation of $5+ for local children’s hospitals to help support vital healthcare initiatives.
While IHOP’s focus is on breakfast, serving their world-famous pancakes, waffles, French toast, omelettes, it also offers a menu of lunch and dinner items such as sandwiches, burgers, and salads. Some IHOP locations also feature coffee bars where guests can order espresso drinks. Chuckwagon racing fans will recognize IHOP Canada through various WPCA marketing features in 2025, including the IHOP Canada Pre-Race Show during the WPCA Radio Broadcasts.
