CALGARY, ALBERTA – The World Professional Chuckwagon Association (WPCA) in partnership with the Rocky Mountain House Chuckwagon Association (RMCA) announced today that the WPCA World Finals will return to Rocky Mountain House in 2025.

The five-day WPCA World Finals, which will be held August 13th through August 17th will be part of a calendar of competition titled the WPCA Pro Tour that starts in Grande Prairie, Alberta on May 28th. The racetrack in Rocky Mountain House is nestled within the beautiful North Saskatchewan River Park.  It has been a stop on the WPCA Pro Tour since 2010.

Obrey Motowylo and Doug Irvine are the two driver directors responsible for the Rocky Mountain House show and for Obrey this is like a hometown event. “I live only an hour away so a lot of people know me,” Obrey said, “I enjoy racing in front of my neighbors and friends and usually get a cheer when I’m going in front of the crowd.”

The Rocky Mountain House Chuckwagon Association was recognized as the WPCA Committee of the Year in 2023. “The Committee is really good to work with and they care about the WPCA and chuckwagon racing” Obrey expressed, “There is good parking for the drivers and space for the horses, they treat all of us good, and for fans, there’s a lot of camping and parking.

“The Rocky Mountain House Chuckwagon Association is thrilled to have the opportunity to host the WPCA Finals,” says RMCA President Lillian Hay.  “The WPCA races are a “treasured” event enjoyed by our region and tourists from afar.”

More information about the WPCA World Finals including tickets, camping, and on-site events will be available at a later date.
