WPCA ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR RACE SECRETARY

With the World Professional Chuckwagon Association 2021 race season on the horizon, positions on the race personnel team are continuing to be filled.  The WPCA is now accepting applications for the position of Race Secretary for the 2021 WPCA Pro Tour.

The role description is as follows:
 Race Secretary must be on site a minimum 2 hours prior to race time to ensure all competitors and tarp sponsors are correct.

 Race Secretary and the Timer shall confer on average times before they are given to the announcer.

 Race Secretary must record all running times plus all penalties and fines communicated to him/her from the timer and communicate them to the Track Announcer. Provide fast time of the night through out the races to  the track announcer.

 Race Secretary must record payment for fines imposed to contestants by the judging staff, and maintain accurate records of such transactions for the association’s office administrator.

 Race Secretary must record daily fines on the official time sheets after each night of racing and make such documents available to each participant after they are official each night of racing.

 Race Secretary will also keep accurate records as to recurring fines for each competitor.

 Race Secretary is responsible for calculating Aggregate Results each day of a show and calculating Driver Points daily.

 The Race Secretary emails all times and points nightly to drivers and applicable members.

 Maintaining the barrel draw with up-to-date sponsors and communicating to track announcers, radio broadcast and WPCA Management.

 Have day sheets and Venue Information sheets printed and available for drivers.

 Race Secretary must notify the association’s office administrator which contestants have not paid their entry fees and the amount of unpaid fees and any fees that have been collected.

 Race Secretary will administer the prize money payout at the end of each race meet, less the amounts owing in fines, and provide the office administrator documentation of these transactions.

 Outrider lists – completed at the beginning of each show & updated daily as required. This is also presented to announcer & used to calculated outrider points.

 Outrider point calculation & paperwork – Show Permits/fees etc

 Race Secretary is available after races for appeals.

 Barrel draws have to be done at end of show and sent to all venues and printer, and participates in redraws when necessary.

 The Race Secretary is to keep a running tally of demerits and add them to the stats sheet after each race day.

The Race Secretary is to pass this information on to the web master to keep all records up to date.

 If heat is under inquiry has to provide the info to Track Announcer.

 Administer WPCA Office on the Tour.

 Other duties as assigned by the Board.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
– Computer proficiency (Word, Excel)
– Ability to multi-task
– Possess a positive attitude
– Strong Communication Skills (Verbal and Written)
– Must have a reliable vehicle


JOB TYPE– Seasonal (May through August) Dates TBA
COMPENSATION -$250.00/race day
