The World Professional Chuckwagon Association (WPCA) is seeking a driven, organized, and hands-on Operations Manager to play a critical role in delivering world-class chuckwagon racing events across the country.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As the Operations Manager, you’ll be on the front lines of WPCA race events—coordinating logistics, supporting officials, managing equipment, and helping bring unforgettable race experiences to life. You’ll also assist with sponsorship requirements and marketing execution, ensuring WPCA events look as professional as they run.
This is a seasonal role ideal for someone who enjoys travel, teamwork, and taking ownership in a dynamic live-sport environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Race Operations & Logistics
- Coordinate the day to day operational requirements and ensure race day execution
- Manage venue operational checklists and contract deliverables
- Pre-race planning and execution
- Attend daily production and show committee meetings
- Monitor equipment inventory, maintenance, and repairs
- Assist with equine and human drug testing procedures
- Support track and arena operations as needed
Marketing & Sponsor Support
- Assist with sponsor banner installation and removal
- Support sponsor activities and hospitality events
- Coordinate championship award presentations with partners and dealerships
- Help ensure sponsor contract deliverables are executed on-site
WHO YOU ARE
You’re a detail-oriented professional who stays calm under pressure and takes pride in representing an organization at the highest level.

- Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism
- Physical capability to move equipment and navigate event venues
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the race season
- Commitment to a professional Western appearance on duty
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Knowledge of WPCA and chuckwagon racing is a strong asset—but not required.
POSITION DETAILS
- Reports to: Vice President of Operations
- Term: One race season (renewable)
- Compensation: Determined by the WPCA Board of Officers
- Equipment Provided: iPad or laptop (your choice)
- Travel & Accommodation: Self-arranged
- Confidentiality Agreement: Required
