The final chuckwagon canvas auction involving WPCA drivers was completed Tuesday night for the Teepee Creek Stampede on May 27, 2025 at the Jackpot Grill & Events Centre in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The Teepee Creek Stampede, which ran its first chuckwagon races in 1946, will run opposite of the final weekend of the Rangeland Derby at the Calgary Stampede.
Seventeen chuckwagon drivers plus one wild card wagon were put up for bid. This was the first time the WPCA had a canvas auction for the Teepee Creek Stampede, and the sale was a success, bringing in a total of $92,250.00.
The top bid of the night went to 2023 WPCA Most Improved Driver Tuff Dreger when Hearts and Hoofprints paid $11,250.00 for the three-day show that starts July 11, 2025. The average bid was $5,125.00, with the median bid also coming in at $5,125.00. The low bid for the sale was at even $3,000.00.
