Rae Croteau – Tops Them All On Night 3 In Dawson Creek

It was a beautiful night with some wind as night 3 of the Battle of the North at in Dawson Creek, British Columbia was run on Friday night. It was a cooler 17°C under mostly sunny skies, and for the second consecutive night it was Rae Croteau Jr. who posted the top time of the race meet so far with a very rapid 1:13.60.
From barrel number 4 in the 7th heat, Croteau’s Pioneer Offroad Rentals/Pioneer Sanitary Solutions and Jeff & Julie DeSutter outfit was the top wagon of the night by a large 1.55 second margin over World Points leader Jamie Laboucane who placed second on the night. Jason Glass placed third, while Jordie Fike and Chance Bensmiller split fourth and fifth on the night.
With one run to go to try and earn a spot in Sundays’ Championship Final Heat, the day money run has vaulted Rae Croteau Jr. to the top of the overall aggregate standings with a three-day combined time of 3:47.94. That puts him just shy of one and a quarter seconds ahead of Chance Vigen, with Jamie Laboucane and Chance Thomson currently occupying the top four overall. Evan Salmond now sits just outside a spot in Sunday’s final, 1.53 seconds out of the fourth and final qualifying spot.
The top driver in the aggregate after Saturday night will get the use of a 2023 GMC Truck for 1 year, while the top 4 drivers in the aggregate after Saturday’s run will go into $30,000.00 Championship Final Heat where the winner will be crowned the 2023 Battle of the North Champion.
