Momentum is building for the 2026 season as the World Professional Chuckwagon Association Pro Tour officially confirms its Pro Tour schedule and prepares to launch another highly anticipated tarp auction season.
The 2026 WPCA Pro Tour presented by GMC will feature nine major events and 41 race days, beginning May 27 at the Grande Prairie Stompede and concluding with the WPCA World Finals in Rocky Mountain House on August 16.
A major feature for the upcoming season is that there will be a Dash for Cash at every show on the 2026 Pro Tour. Dash for Cashes and Championship Races elevate the excitement while creating premium, repeatable branding opportunities for partners through tarp sponsorship, on-track integration, fan engagement, livestream exposure, and broadcast assets.
As teams prepare for spring training, attention now turns to the start of the tarp auction season, an essential component of the chuckwagon racing ecosystem that brings fans, sponsors, competitors, and communities together ahead of the summer campaign.
The Calgary Stampede will kick off the 2026 tarp auction season with the Rangeland Derby Canvas Auction on Thursday, April 9, at the Big Four Building. The event is expected to once again deliver an unforgettable evening celebrating elite competition, Western heritage, and strong community support.
Just two days later, on Saturday, April 11, the Grande Prairie Stompede will host its annual Tarp Auction at the Tara Centre, where energy fills the room as fans, sponsors, volunteers, and drivers engage in spirited bidding to determine team pairings for the WPCA races at the Grande Prairie Stompede.
Both the Calgary Stampede and Grande Prairie Stompede tarp auctions will be livestreamed on the WPCA streaming platform, allowing fans and partners to tune in live at watch.wpca.com.
The Ponoka Stampede tarp auction is scheduled for Friday, May 1, with 2026 marking a significant milestone as the Ponoka Stampede celebrates its 90th anniversary. Additional details surrounding this historic event will be announced in the coming weeks.
With a confirmed tour schedule, expanded race-night features, and strong early-season engagement through tarp auctions, the 2026 WPCA Pro Tour is shaping up to deliver consistent exposure, high-energy competition, and meaningful partnership opportunities across Western Canada.
More information on specific shows, tarp auctions, and sponsorship activations will be released in the coming weeks.
