The 2024 edition of the North American Chuckwagon Championship in Lloydminster is in the books, and Luke Tournier, driving the G Force Oilfield Services Inc. Outfit, and along with outriders Quinn Langevin and Sandy McKenzie, captured the North American . It’s the second consecutive year that Luke Tournier has captured the North American Chuckwagon Championship, and he also becomes the event’s first multi-time champion.

In a thrilling championship final heat, Luke Tournier won the championship with penalty free run of 1:16.21 from barrel position number 2. 2024 Cold Lake Champion D.J. King placed second from barrel number 4, a mere 4 one-hundredths of a second behind the champion Tournier. Former North American Champion Logan Gorst placed third from barrel position number 3, while Colby Stanley, placed fourth from barrel position number 1 and had to settle for fourth place.

It was a clean sweep of the North American Championship for Tournier who also won the Aggregate Championship on Saturday night after posting the best 8-day Aggregate time of 10:08.02. Logan Gorst qualified for the championship final in second place overall with an 8-day aggregate time of 10:09.53. Coby Stanley, making his first appearance in the NACC Championship Final qualified in third place overall, with an 8-day aggregate time of 10:19.08, while D.J. King made his second consecutive appearance in the NACC Championship Final, grabbed fourth hole with an 8-day aggregate time of 10:19.24. Roger Moore was the odd man out after placing fifth overall after 8 days.

As far as the day results go, the Championship Final Heat produced the top three time on the night with Luke Tournier placing first, D.J. King placing second, and Logan Gorst placing third. Evan Magee and Brad McMann placed fourth and fifth on the night respectively. Had finalist Colby Stanley not knocked over a barrel, the top four times on the final night would have come from the Championship Final Heat.

The WPCA Pro Tour resumes in High River for the Battle of the Foothills starting Thursday, July 25, 2024. Live action can be heard starting on Friday at 9:00pm ET, 8:00pm CT and 7:00pm MT on New Country.
