It was a perfect night of racing on night two of the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede. The races ran under mainly sunny skies and 22°C. Racetrack conditions were much improved over night number one with a large crowd on hand. When the night wrapped up, it was Logan Gorst who got the Alberta AG Centre Fast Time of the Night after posting the fastest time of the race meet so far with a 1:02.80.
Coming off barrel number one in the tenth heat, Gorst, driving the One Arrow First Nation outfit placed first overall for the day by 40 one-hundredths of a second over Chance Flad. Jordie Fike grabbed third, Chad Fike placed fourth and Tuff Dreger filled out the top five fastest chuckwagons on the evening.
Defending Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Champion Chanse Vigen maintains his lead atop the overall aggregate standings with a two-day total time of 2:08.88. That puts him 32 one-hundredths of a second faster than Kurt Bensmiller, with Tuff Dreger sitting in the very valuable third place overall with just one run left to try and earn a spot in Sunday’s Championship Final Heat. Troy Flad sits a mere 8 one-hundredths of a second outside the top three in fourth place overall with day money winner Logan Gorst in fifth place overall after two days, and just 17 one-hundredths of a second out of a possible birth in Sunday’s Championship Final Heat.
The top 3 drivers in the overall aggregate standings after Saturday night will go into Sunday’s $10,000.00 championship final heat. Winner of Sunday’s final will be the champion of the 2025 Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Championship.
Day 3 of the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede can be heard live on Saturday, June 14, 2025 starting at 9:00pm Eastern, 8:00pm Central, and 7:00pm Mountain time, on 96.5 The Ranch, or streaming options are available through the WPCA Website at wpca.com, iHeart Radio website/app or the Radioplayer Canada website/app.
