As the temperatures climbed, so did the speed of the wagons, as Night 4 of the 2026 Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby presented by Play Alberta was contested under mostly sunny skies and a warm 22°C. Track conditions were once again very fast, and Jamie Laboucane, driving the Panorama Advisory Group outfit, captured his second Kirk’s Trail Tire Wheels on Fire Fast Time of the Night with a blistering run of 1:10.74.
Coming off barrel number three in the ninth heat, Laboucane edged Chanse Vigen to the finish line by nearly a quarter of a second to post the fastest run of the Rangeland Derby so far. Chad Fike claimed third on the night, while Obrey Motowylo and Mitch Sutherland rounded out the top five.
The nightly victory has moved Jamie Laboucane back to the top of the overall aggregate standings with a four-day combined time of 4:50.42. He holds a little more than a half-second advantage over Rae Croteau Jr., while defending champion Chanse Vigen remains third overall. Chad Fike has climbed into fourth place, just under 3¾ seconds out of a top-three position, with Logan Gorst slipping to fifth after four nights of racing.
The top three drivers in the aggregate standings following racing on Saturday, July 11, will advance to the Championship Final Heat. The winner of that heat will be crowned the 2026 Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby presented by Play Alberta Champion.
