Overnight and nearly all-day rains made for a cold and wet day 2 of the Wainwright Stampede. It was a windy and cool 12°C with sloppy racetrack conditions, but it didn’t damper the enthusiasm of the Wainwright chuckwagon fans. When the night was over, it was Kurt Bensmiller who won the Alberta AG Centre Fast Time of the Night after a run of 1:06.35.

From barrel number two in the twelfth heat, Bensmiller’s Top Grade Construction Ltd. outfit won top money for the night by 48 one-hundredths of a second over Chance Flad. Kris Molle placed third, Cruise Bensmiller grabbed fourth, with Evan Salmond rounding out the top five runs on the night.

Two top five runs has moved Chance Flad into first place in the overall aggregate standings with a two-run total of 2:11.16. That puts him 48 one-hundredths of a second ahead of Kris Molle. Rae Croteau Jr. sits third, 1.19 seconds behind the overall leader Chance Flad, with Jason Glass and Evan Salmond making out the top five overall after two runs. The driver with the best 3-day Aggregate Time after Sunday’s run will be the champion of the Wainwright Stampede.

Day 3 of the Wainwright Stampede can be heard live on Sunday, June 22, 2025 starting at 6:50pm Eastern, 5:50pm Central, and 4:50pm Mountain time on 96.5 The Ranch, or streaming options are available through the WPCA Website at wpca.com, iHeart Radio website/app or the Radioplayer Canada website/app.
