It was another tremendous night of racing at the Dewberry World Chuckwagon Races. Another warm and windy evening under sunny skies, fast racetrack conditions and close racing were the order for the day. When the night wrapped up it was Kris Molle who for the second consecutive night took the fast time of the night with a run of 1:09.47.

Coming off barrel number 2 in heat number 8, Molle, driving the Benoit Oilfield Construction outfit placed first overall for the day by 48 one-hundredths of a second over local favorite Kurt Bensmiller who placed 2nd overall for the night. Evan Salmond was third, with Kurt Bensmiller’s second wagon placed fourth, with another local favorite Chance Bensmiller and Layne MacGillivray’s second wagon splitting fifth place on the day.

After two runs, Kris Molle leads the overall aggregate standings with a two day total of 2:13.43. That puts him a whopping 2.71 seconds ahead of Cody Ridsdale who sits second, with Layne MacGillivray’s second wagon holding down third place overall. Kurt Bensmiller is fourth place overall just 81 one-hundredths of a second out of third hole, with Jordie Fike rounding out fifth place overall.

The top 3 drivers in the aggregate after Saturday night will go into the $25,000.00 championship final heat on Sunday where the winner will claim the 2021 Dewberry World Chuckwagon Races Championship.

Day three of the Dewberry World Chuckwagon Races can be seen on Facebook  Live on the WPCA Facebook page on Saturday night, July 3, 2021 starting at 7:30pm Mountain time.
