Night 2 of the Strathmore Stampede was run on a hot dry Saturday evening. Racetrack conditions were once again excellent, the stands were filled to maximum capacity, and some outstanding finishes were witnessed by the Strathmore chuckwagon fans. When things wrapped up for the evening, Kirk Sutherland came out on top with the fast run of the night with a run of 1:15.93.
From barrel position number 2 in the second heat, Sutherland, driving the Hodge Pressure Services Ltd./Daler Pressure Services Ltd. rig was just 11 one-hundredths of a second faster than Chance Bensmiller who had to settle for second place on the night. Kurt Bensmiller’s second hook placed third, with Obrey Motowylo and Kurt Bensmiller’s first hook filling out the top 5 on the night.
After two runs, Kurt Bensmiller’s Tsuu T’ina Nation outfit sits atop the overall aggregate standings with a two-day combined time of 2:33.05.
