After a successful run at the Grande Prairie Stompede, the WPCA Pro Tour resumed in Bonnyville, Alberta with the running of the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship. Luke Tournier came into this year’s event as the defending champion. It was a very pleasant evening for a very good Thursday night crowd, and when night one wrapped up it was World Points Leader Jason Glass who emerged with the Alberta AG Centre Fast Time of the Night after a penalty free run of 1:15.26.

Glass, driving the Birchcliff Energy Ltd. Outfit, had the fast run on the night, 42 one-hundredths of a second faster than Darcy Flad who had to settle for second place on the night. Chanse Vigen was third, Logan Gorst grabbed fourth, and Chad Fike rounded out the top five on the night.

The top four drivers in the aggregate standings after Saturday night will go into the $22,000.00 Championship Final Heat on Sunday afternoon. Winner of Sunday’s final will be declared the champion of the 2024 Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship.

Day 2 of the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship can be heard Friday, night, June 6, 2024 at 8:00pm Eastern, 7:00pm Central, and 6:00pm Mountain time on 96.5 The Ranch, or streaming options are available through the WPCA Website at wpca.com, iHeart Radio website/app or the Radioplayer Canada website/app.
