The dust was again flying on Night 6 of the Calgary Stampede Cowboys Rangeland Derby. Racetrack conditions were excellent, temperature was a warm 20°C under mostly cloudy clouds, and for the second time this week, it was Jamie Laboucane who won the day money with a fast run of 1:11.51.

Coming off barrel number 1 in the 8th heat, Laboucane, driving the Cowboys Music Festival outfit won top money by a mere 5 one-hundredths of a second over Defending champion Kris Molle. Kurt Bensmiller placed third for the third consecutive night, with Calgary Stampede rookie Wade Salmond placing fourth with Codey McCurrach filling out the top five on the night.

After six runs, Kurt Bensmiller leads in the overall aggregate standings with a six-day total of 7:09.15, 2.44 second2 ahead of reigning World Champion Layne MacGillivray, Chanse Vigen, who was leading after five nights, sits third overall despite a five-second penalty for knocking over a barrel tonight. Defending champion Kris Molle is now in fourth place overall, just 7 one-hundredths of a second out of that important third place, with Rae Croteau Jr. in close pursuit sitting in fifth place overall after six nights.
