Coming off barrel position number two in heat number 10, Laboucane won the sudden death final on a good racetrack by just 12 one-hundreds of a second over Jason Glass who placed second from barrel number one. Kris Molle placed third from barrel number four, with Kurt Bensmiller finishing in fourth place in the championship final from barrel number three. It is the first time Jamie Laboucane has won the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship.
As far as day results are concerned, it was Chanse Vigen, driving the KUDO Energy Services outfit, who took the Alberta AG Centre Fast Time of the Night after posting a run of 1:16.34 from barrel number three in the second heat of the day. Vigen was the fast time by 44 one-hundredths of a second over Mitch Sutherland who also ran in heat number two. Chad Fike, despite a one-second late outrider penalty placed third, Logan Gorst placed fourth, and 2025 Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship champion Jamie Laboucane had the fifth best time on the afternoon.
In the race for the top four among chuckwagon drivers competing on a permit, Jordie Fike, Logan Gorst, Troy Flad and D.J. King have secured full status for the remainder of the 2025 WPCA Pro Tour. Ryan Baptiste, Vern Nolin, Dallas Dyck and Todd McCraken missed out on gaining full status after the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship, while Rocky Bremner and Dale Young were eliminated after the Grande Prairie Stompede last week. These six drivers will have conditional status for the remainder of the 2025 race season and will only be able to compete if spots open up at any of the remaining shows on the WPCA Pro Tour.
