When the WPCA Pro Tour races in Grande Prairie next week, a GMC truck sponsored by Summit Fleet will be one of the prizes wagon drivers will be racing for.

The Grande Prairie Stompede has long been one of the major stops on the WPCA Pro Tour and there are plenty of reasons why that is the case. The energy generated from a full grandstand of passionate WPCA fans over 5 nights of racing is just the start of it.  Combine the history of champions and drivers who live in the Grande Prairie area and the commitment by the Grande Prairie Stompede team to grow the sport and it all starts to add up.

Now, after 2 years of cancellations stemming from Covid-19, the Grande Prairie Stompede is back.  Organizers worked tirelessly to hold a Gala and Tarp Auction Fundraiser last month to help inject funds into the event for wagon drivers. It was also recently confirmed the Grande Prairie Stompede Dash for Cash will be $35,000.00.

Along with the always exciting Dash for Cash final heat, the Grande Prairie Stompede Aggregate Champion will be awarded a 1 year lease on a GMC Truck sponsored by Summit Fleet.  The aggregate champion is the driver with the fastest cumulative time over the first 4 nights of racing.

4 – Time World Champion Kurt Bensmiller is no stranger to winning trucks. In fact, Bensmiller has won 10 trucks over his career and appreciates the support from the sponsors including Summit Fleet who will be sponsoring 3 trucks on the tour this year. “Prize money is important for the drivers to help pay the bills” says Kurt, “to also be rewarded with beautiful GMC trucks and have the ability to drive them around and showcase our sport is truly amazing.”
