The curtain has closed on the 2026 WPCA Pro Tour presented by GMC, and it went down in dramatic fashion Sunday afternoon at the World Chuckwagon Finals & Battle of the Rockies in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
With the season-ending Kirk’s Trail Tire Series Championship on the line, Chanse Vigen, Obrey Motowylo, Jamie Laboucane and Jason Glass entered the Championship Final Heat knowing that $28,000.00 in cash, a one-year lease on a GMC truck and the prestigious Kirk’s Trail Tire Series title were all within reach.
When the wagons crossed the finish line for the final time in 2026, it was Jason Glass, driving the Birchcliff Energy Ltd. outfit with outriders Trey MacGillivray and Bodie Glass, who capped off an outstanding season by capturing the Kirk’s Trail Tire Series Championship.
Glass delivered when it mattered most, setting a new track record on the Rocky Mountain House racetrack with a blazing 1:11.20 from barrel position number two. Jamie Laboucane crossed the finish line first with an even faster 1:10.93 from barrel position number three, but was assessed a two-second penalty for creating a false start, dropping him behind Glass in the final standings. Battle of the Rockies Champion Chanse Vigen finished third from barrel position number four, while newly crowned World Champion Obrey Motowylo placed fourth from barrel position number one in an exciting final race of the 2026 season.
Glass’ winning time was a remarkable 1.05 seconds faster than the previous track record he established on the same racetrack on the final day of the 2025 season. The performance also earned Glass the final Kirk’s Trail Tire Wheels On Fire Fast Time of the Night of the 2026 season. Laboucane posted the second-fastest time of the day, followed closely by Vigen, with Luke Tournier and Layne Flad rounding out the five fastest times.
Earlier in the day, Chanse Vigen was presented with the championship trophies for winning the Battle of the Rockies Championship on Saturday night. Driving the Terrafirma Resources outfit with outriders Tyler DeSutter and Rory Gervais, Vigen posted the fastest four-day aggregate time of 4:57.91. Vigen finished 2.18 seconds ahead of Obrey Motowylo in the aggregate standings, with Jamie Laboucane, Chad Fike and Jason Glass completing the top five.

Two World Champions were also crowned Saturday night.For the second time in his career, Obrey Motowylo captured the World Chuckwagon Championship, finishing 76 points ahead of Jason Glass. Rory Gervais also etched his name into the history books, winning a record-tying fifth World Outriding Championship by nearly 900 points over Ethan Motowylo.

The Equine Outfit of Excellence awards also recognized some of the outstanding horses competing throughout the 2026 season. Champion Right Leader “BEERS” came from Luke Tournier’s outfit, while Champion Left Leader “GREYSON” was from Chanse Vigen’s outfit. Champion Right Wheeler “GHOST” belonged to Jamie Laboucane, while Champion Left Wheeler “SHAKE” came from Jason Glass’ outfit. Among the champion outriding horses, “ROB” from Chad Fike’s outfit and “TINY” from Obrey Motowylo’s outfit shared the championship honours.
And with that, a memorable 2026 WPCA Pro Tour presented by GMC has come to a close.
Congratulations to the 2026 World Champions, driver Obrey Motowylo and outrider Rory Gervais, as well as all of the champion drivers and outriders crowned at stops throughout the WPCA Pro Tour and the Calgary Stampede.
