After an exciting weekend in High River for the Battle of the Foothills, the WPCA Pro Tour moved over to Strathmore, Alberta for the running of the Strathmore Stampede where Chanse Vigen came into this year’s event as the defending champion. Temperatures were hot, racetrack conditions were excellent, and a capacity crowd was the recipe for the evening. When the sun began to go down on Strathmore, and for the second consecutive year, Chanse Vigen opened the Strathmore Stampede with the Alberta Ag Centre Fast Time of the Night with a time of 1:14.22.

Coming off barrel number 1 in the 8th heat of the evening, Vigen, driving the Blackstone Drilling Fluids Ltd. outfit, posted the top time of the night and placed first overall for the day by 28 one-hundredths of a second over Layne Flad. Evan Salmond was third, while Troy Dorchester and Jason Glass ended up splitting fourth and fifth on the night.

The top 4 drivers after the first 3 nights of racing will qualify for Monday’s Strathmore Stampede Championship Final Heat. The winner of Monday’s Championship Final will be crowned the Strathmore Stampede Champion.

Day 2 of the Strathmore Stampede can be heard on Saturday night, August 2, 2025 on WPCA Radio starting 9:00pm Eastern, 8:00pm Central, and 7:00pm Mountain time on 96.5 The Ranch, or streaming options are available through the WPCA Website at wpca.com, iHeart Radio website/app or the Radioplayer Canada website/app.
