The City of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan is recognized as the gateway to the north and just a short drive to Meadow Lake Provincial Park, one of Saskatchewan’s most popular destinations.

The northwest region of Saskatchewan offers a spectacular variety of recreational attractions. The local parkland, with its many small lakes, is ideal for cottage vacations and camping, while the northern forest areas feature great fishing and hunting, and some of the most beautiful scenery in Canada.

Along with its extensive recreational activities, the Meadow Lake area is also known for producing chuckwagon racing drivers, so it should be no surprise there is great fan and business support for the sport coming from that community.

One of those supporters is GMC dealer Eagle Creek GM.  2020 will mark Eagle Creek GM’s 10th consecutive year of supporting chuckwagon racing. Over the last 10 years, Eagle Creek GM has sponsored local wagon racing events and specific drivers, however, their biggest investment over the last 5 years has been supporting the WPCA Radio Broadcasts as one of the major sponsors.

“I love to listen and I love to watch the races” said Eagle Creek’s general manager Bryan Treptow, “I know a lot of fans do as well so if we can help support the WPCA radio program so people can listen then that’s what we want to do.”

While Treptow has many local drivers to cheer for he says he enjoys following all the WPCA drivers because each one brings something unique  to the game.

Following the 2019 Calgary Stampede, Eagle Creek GM hosted a BBQ so fans could shake hands with local driver and Calgary Stampede Champion Logan Gorst who displayed his championship bronze. “The bronze is unreal” said Treptow, “everyone enjoyed the day.  We have a lot of wagon fans in and around the Meadow Lake area and we hear a lot of thanks for our support of the WPCA radio program and chuckwagon racing.”

Regardless of the race results from the WPCA and Calgary Stampede this year, Eagle Creek GM is already discussing plans to host another BBQ and fans event later in July.
