Carrying one of chuckwagon racing’s deepest family legacies, Weston is emerging as one of the sport’s rising outriding stars. He was named WPCA Top Rookie Outrider in 2023 and rode in his first Championship Final Heat at the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship behind his father, Mitch. He also contributed to his grandfather Kirk Sutherland’s track record run at the Century Downs World Finals.
In 2024, Weston made history by becoming the first outrider to ride for his grandfather in a Championship Final Heat, doing so at the Medicine Hat Stampede.
A multi-sport athlete, Weston competes in baseball, hockey, volleyball, football, and motorsports, and has also earned basketball all-star honours. He attends Peace Wapiti Academy and lives in Grande Prairie, Alberta with his girlfriend Bradlee.
