Get to Know More About the Outrider

A new outrider to the WPCA Pro Tour, Tyson made his debut during the Chuckwagon 101 demonstration race at the 2023 Calgary Stampede behind Chance Thomson. He made his first official ride on the WPCA Pro Tour on the final day of the Century Downs World Chuckwagon Finals behind Jordie Fike. He rode penalty free and helped Jordie win the “Dash-for-Cash” for Heat #4 and the $3,500.00 cash prize. Tyson went to work for Jordie Fike as a barn hand in 2020, and through the encouragement and guidance of Jordie, Chad Fike, Chance Flad and Nolan Cameron, he decided to try his hand at outriding. In his younger days Tyson rode steers and mini broncs, and is currently a grade 12 student at Highwood High School in High River and is doing his electrical apprenticeship. He works as the Zamboni driver at the ice rink in Blackie, Alberta, and enjoys roping and riding horses in the off season. Tyson is single, and makes his home in High River, Alberta.
