Tyler recently completed his fifth consecutive season as an outrider, though his 2025 campaign was cut short by injury at the Ponoka Stampede. Prior to that, he rode primarily for Rae Croteau Jr., highlighted by a Championship Final Heat appearance at the Medicine Hat Stampede.
In just four full World Professional Chuckwagon Association seasons, Tyler has earned six show championships with four different drivers, showcasing his consistency and versatility. Raised in the sport, he followed the circuit with his parents, Jeff DeSutter and Julie DeSutter, and was mentored by Rick Fraser and Chanse Vigen. A former member of the Edmonton Wildcats, Tyler also excelled in football. He now lives in Grande Prairie, Alberta, and enjoys hockey, golf, and travelling.
