Get to Know More About the Driver

2025 was a standout season for Troy Flad, who was named the Herman Flad Memorial Award winner as the WPCA’s Most Improved Driver. Starting as a permit driver, he climbed to a career-best 15th in the World Standings—a 17-position jump from 2024.

He recorded seven top-ten runs, three top-ten overall finishes, and was among the least-penalized drivers on tour. Career highlights include an aggregate title at Lloydminster (2015) and the WPCA Showmanship Award (2003), along with three Championship Final Heat appearances, including the Ponoka Stampede and Edmonton Chuckwagon Derby.

A second-generation driver, Troy is the son of Herman Flad and the father of Gage Flad. He lives in Warburg, Alberta, where he operates a trucking and farming operation.
