A veteran of more than 30 seasons on the WPCA Pro Tour, Troy is a championship driver highlighted by his 2012 “Triple Crown†season, winning the Ponoka Stampede, Calgary Stampede Aggregate, and the Rangeland Derby—the first chuckwagon driver to capture all three in a single season.
He was the 1993 WPCA Top Rookie Driver, the 1998 Calgary Stampede Top Rookie Driver, and the 2018 Guy Weadick Award recipient. A two-time WPCA Clean Drive Award winner, he has qualified for three Rangeland Derby Championship Finals.
After missing part of 2025 due to injury, he returned to record nine top-ten runs, including two top-five runs, and placed inside the top ten overall at his first show back at the Battle of the Foothills.
A third-generation champion, Troy comes from a storied family that includes grandfather Tom Dorchester, father Garry, both World and Calgary Stampede Champions, along with several accomplished relatives. He and his wife Jennifer have three children—Emily, Haley, and Connor—and reside in Westerose, Alberta.
