Born into chuckwagon racing, Trey delivered a dominant 2025 season, leading all World Professional Chuckwagon Association outriders in show wins. He rode to victories at the Medicine Hat Stampede and Calgary Stampede with Chanse Vigen, added a win with Chance Flad at the Wainwright Stampede, and was part of wins with Jason Glass at the Strathmore Stampede and Battle of the Rockies. He competed in all nine finals and was High Point Outrider at Medicine Hat.
Trey is a two-time Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby champion outrider, a Ponoka Stampede champion, and a Rod Glass Memorial Award winner. A fourth-generation competitor, he is the son of Layne MacGillivray, with family ties to Dennis MacGillivray, Wayne Dagg, and Cliff Claggett. He lives in Coronation, Alberta, with his girlfriend Triston Shaw and enjoys sports and working with horses.
