The most successful active outrider in the world today, Rory is a three-time World Champion Outrider, and lost his fourth world title in a tie-breaker with eventual World Champion Ethan Motowylo in 2024. However, his 2024 season was highlighted by wins at the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship and the Ponoka Stampede behind Luke Tournier, he was the high pointed outrider at the Grande Prairie Stompede, Medicine Hat Stampede, and the Ponoka Stampede,, and rode in four championship final heats.
In eleven years on the WPCA Pro Tour, Rory has never finished lower than fourth in the World Standings. He was named the Outstanding Outrider at the Calgary Stampede an unprecedented seven consecutive years, has twice won the Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby, has won the Ponoka Stampede three times, four times he was outrode for the Richard Cosgrave Memorial winning outfit at the Rangeland Derby, among his 35 show championships on the WPCA Pro Tour.
Rory started his outriding career in 2008 on the Canadian Professional Chuckwagon Association (CPCA) circuit. In just five years on the CPCA circuit, Rory twice was the CPCA Champion Outrider, and was the CPCA’s High Point Rookie Outrider in 2008. A farmer and rancher in the off season, Rory also works for as an oilfield maintenance worker for L & L Oilfield, and enjoys team roping, hunting, fishing and hockey in his spare time. Rory and his wife Jamie have three children – Fletcher, Reece and Tucker – and make their home in Mervin, Saskatchewan.
