2025 was Preston’s breakout season. He qualified for his first WPCA Championship Final Heat at the Grande Prairie Stompede, briefly led the World Standings, and racked up thirteen top-ten runs — seven in the top five. Top ten overall finishes at Grande Prairie, the Calgary Stampede and Battle of the Rockies in Rocky Mountain House were his best of the season.
He also shone at the CPCA Lloydminster Finals, posting five top-ten runs in five days, including a day-money run and two additional top-five runs to claim runner-up for the Aggregate Championship.
Since debuting on the CPCA circuit in 2018, Preston has won three show championships, had two horses named to the CPCA Equine Outfit of Excellence, and earned the CPCA Most Improved Driver award in 2022.
When he’s off the track, Preston works as a Journeyman Red Seal Plumber and Pipefitter with PKP Mechanical, enjoys hunting and travelling, and calls the Frog Lake First Nation in Alberta home.
