A new driver to professional chuckwagon racing, Jamie will compete on the 2023 WPCA Pro Tour as a Permit Driver for the second consecutive year. After first getting involved with chuckwagon racing as a canvas sponsor in 2013 with driver Wayne Knight, Jamie decided to take the lines himself and made his debut as a chuckwagon driver in 2021 at the Poundmaker Cree Nation Spring show on the Canadian Professional Chuckwagon Association (CPCA) circuit. His first taste of success came at the 2021 North American Chuckwagon Championship in Lloydminster when he won the Heat of the Night on night number four. Running on the CPCA circuit in 2022, Jamie posted three top ten runs, and made his debut on the WPCA Pro Tour late in the season at the 2022 Battle of the Rockies.
As a chuckwagon sponsor, and with Wayne Knight driving, Jamie won 3 shows on the CPCA Circuit in 2013 at the Frog Lake First Nation, the 2015 Wainwright Stampede, and the 2015 Prairie Racing Series. He credits driver Wayne Knight for teaching him horsemanship, and drivers Kris Molle and Chance Bensmiller for teaching him the finer points of driving.
Jamie enjoys snowmobiling and travelling in the off season, and owns Tomtruck Enterprises Ltd. – an oilfield service company that provides coil tubing units and flushby units throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan. He and his wife Kim have three children – Corey, Jessica and Dylan – one grandson, and make their home in Lashburn, Saskatchewan.
