Jamie has quickly emerged as one of the WPCA Pro Tour’s rising stars, achieving impressive success in just three full seasons. In 2025, he captured the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship, qualified for three Championship Final Heats, including his first at the Calgary Stampede. He recorded 30 top-ten runs, including eight day-money runs, 17 additional top-five runs, and placed in the top ten overall at seven shows. His horse “3 Score†was named Champion Left Leader on both the WPCA Equine Outfit of Excellence and Calgary Stampede Equine Athlete of Excellence.
Jamie began his career on the CPCA circuit, earning 14 show championships along with honours as High Point Driver (2022), Top Rookie Driver (2006), and a two-time All-Around Champion. Prior to driving, he was also a decorated outrider, highlighted by a Rangeland Derby Championship (2009), a Calgary Stampede Outstanding Outrider Award (2009) and Aggregate title (2010). The son of former driver Brian Laboucane, Jamie and his wife Dana have two children – Oliver and Ella, and make their home in St. Walburg, Saskatchewan.
