One of the most accomplished young outriders, the 2024 season saw Hayden win the Grande Prairie Stompede with Jamie Laboucane and was the high pointed outrider at the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship. He outrode in four championship final heats, including Luke Tournier’s winning run at the Ponoka Stampede. Hayden made history in 2021 when he not only became the youngest ever World Champion Outrider at just 17 years old, but it was the first time that a father/son each won a World Championship in the same year when his father Obrey captured the World Championship as well. Hayden was also the WPCA’s Top Rookie Outrider in 2019.
Hayden credits his older brother Ethan as being the most helpful and influential over his outriding career so far. A former wild pony racer, Hayden’s off-season hobbies include many sports like hunting and sledding in the mountains Hayden plays junior hockey for the Sylvan Lake Wranglers of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League. Hayden is single, and makes his home in Hoadley, Alberta.
