Get to Know More About the Driver

A young driver with a promising future, 2024 will be Gage’s third year as a Permit Driver on the WPCA Pro Tour. The 2023 season saw Gage compete at five shows with his best finish coming at the North American Chuckwagon Championship in Lloydminster where he placed 24th. Gage made his debut as a chuckwagon driver at the 2022 Battle of the Foothills in High River and won the first two races he ever competed in. Gage started his career as an outrider in 2019, but switched his focus to driving mid-season when the opportunity to drive chuckwagons presented itself to him.

A third-generation chuckwagon competitor, Gage is the son of driver Troy Flad, the grandson of former Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby Champion Herman Flad. Gage enjoys hockey, team roping, does some farrier work, and owns his own western shirt brand called Northern Ace in the off season, is single and makes his home in Warburg, Alberta.
