Get to Know More About the Driver

A rising talent on the WPCA Pro Tour, Gage returns in 2026 as a Permit Driver after making a strong comeback from a 2024 injury. In 2025, he competed solely at the Poundmaker Chuckwagon Classic, recording two top-ten finishes in four days—his first show back after a season-ending injury at the 2024 Grande Prairie Stompede.

Gage made his chuckwagon driving debut at the 2022 Battle of the Foothills in High River, winning the first two races he ever entered. He began his career as an outrider in 2019 before shifting his focus to driving mid-season when the opportunity arose.

A third-generation competitor, Gage is the son of driver Troy Flad and grandson of former Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby Champion Herman Flad. In the off-season, he enjoys hockey, team roping, and farrier work, and runs his own western shirt brand, Northern Ace. Gage is single and makes his home in Warburg, Alberta.
