Get to Know More About the Driver

A veteran driver with over twenty years experience, Dallas will be making his debut on the WPCA Pro Tour as a Permit Driver in 2025 after spending his entire career on the Canadian Professional Chuckwagon Association (CPCA) circuit. In 2024, Dallas was one of just two drivers to place inside the the top ten overall at all nine shows that comprised the 2024 CPCA race season. He posted twenty top ten runs with ten of those runs placing inside the top five. For the third time in his career he had a horse named to the CPCA Equine Outfit of Excellence, and his fifth place finish in the CPCA Standings was a career best.

In 2023 Dallas won his first Calgary Stampede Day Money, cashing the top cheque on night nine, and in 2019 he had a horse named to the Calgary Stampede’s Equine Athlete of Excellence. As a chuckwagon driver on the CPCA circuit, Dallas won two CPCA show championships at the CPCA Lloydminster Finals in 2016 and 2018, and won three CPCA dash-for-cash runs at the Wainwright Stampede in 2017 and the Onion Lake First Nations show in 2022 and 2023.

Dallas is a two-time winner of the CPCA’s Bruce Bremner Memorial Award for Best Barreling Outfit, and a two time winner of the CPCA’s All-Around Championship. As an outrider, Dallas was the 1997 CPCA Top Rookie Outrider, and outrode for Rod Salmond’s championship outfit that captured the Cheyenne Frontier Days in 1998.

Dallas is a third generation chuckwagon driver and a cousin to fellow drivers Logan and Dustin Gorst. Dallas and his wife Lexi make their home in Dewberry, Alberta and have two children – son Wyatt – outrider and daughter Tia – an executive chef in Calgary. Dallas works as a truck driver for Precision Contracting in the off season.
