One of the rising young talents in professional chuckwagon racing, D.J. returns to the WPCA Pro Tour for the first time since 2024 following a breakout season on the CPCA circuit in 2025. He captured both the CPCA’s Most Improved Driver Award and the Bruce Bremner Memorial Award for Best Barreling Outfit while posting 10 top-ten runs, including three top-five finishes. His best results included a fifth-place aggregate finish at the Poundmaker Cree Nation Show and an eighth-place finish at the Whitecap Dakota Show.
D.J. grew up around the WPCA Pro Tour alongside his parents, 2022 WPCA Active Supporter Award winners Jeff and Julie DeSutter. He spent much of his youth helping veteran driver Rick Fraser and has recently become an important part of Chanse Vigen’s World Championship outfit, with Vigen serving as one of the biggest influences on his career.
A former standout football player with the St. Joe’s Celtics and the Edmonton Wildcats, D.J. now works as a heavy-duty mechanic for Rentco Equipment in the off-season and makes his home in Grande Prairie.
