Get to Know More About the Driver

D.J. made his debut as a chuckwagon driver at his hometown show – the Grande Prairie Stompede in 2024, and spent the remainder of the season split between the WPCA Pro Tour and the CPCA Circuit. D.J. has been following the WPCA Pro Tour with his parents – 2022 WPCA Active Supporter Award winners Jeff and Julie DeSutter – his entire life. He spent the majority of his upbringing helping drivers Rick Fraser and in recent years has played a big role as part of Chanse Vigen’s World Championship outfit. Chanse Vigen has been he biggest influence over D.J.’s aspiring career so far.

A two-sport athlete, D.J. played played high school football for the St. Joes Celtics football program in Grande Prairie that won 3 consecutive Peace Bowl Championships and played for Team Alberta in the High School Senior Bowl , and went on to play football for the Edmonton Wildcats of the Prairie Football Conference in the Canadian Junior Football League.  His other interests include football, playing hockey, dirt biking, fishing, hunting and travelling with his family. D.J. is the older brother of outrider Tyler DeSutter, has a girlfriend – Brooke Davidson – works as a heavy duty mechanic for Rentco Equipment in the off-season, and makes his home in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
