Get to Know More About the Driver

A seasoned chuckwagon driver and crowd favorite at every arena he competes at, Cody is a former champion at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede and has qualified for the semi-final round at the Ponoka Stampede. The 2025 season saw him record three top-ten runs, highlighted by a fifth-place run at the Calgary Stampede.

Cody began his driving career at just 15 years of age on the Western Chuckwagon Association (WCA) circuit in 2003 under the guidance of his father, former Calgary Stampede track record holder Glen Ridsdale. During his WCA tenure, Cody captured three show championships and qualified for the championship final heat at the association’s season-ending event in Dawson Creek in 2007.

Away from the track, Cody enjoys hockey and hunting. He owns Ridsco Oilfield Services and works within the family logging business during the off-season. In 2019, he also launched Homestretch Horse Transport, providing safe and reliable equine transportation services.

Originally from Paddle Prairie, Alberta, Cody and his wife Katrina now make their home in Fairview, Alberta.
