Coming into his own on the WPCA Pro Tour, Chance delivered a milestone 2025 season highlighted by his first career show championship as a chuckwagon driver at the Wainwright Stampede. He recorded thirteen top-ten runs on the year, including five that placed inside the top five. The Wainwright victory, along with an additional top-ten overall finish at the Battle of the Rockies, stood as his season highlights.
Chance was the Top Rookie Driver on the WPCA Pro Tour in 2019, and earlier made history in 2016 when he became just the third outrider to twice capture chuckwagon racing’s modern-day “Triple Crown†in a single season—winning the Ponoka Stampede, the Calgary Stampede Aggregate, and the Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby.
As an outrider, Chance has compiled an exceptional résumé that includes three World Outriding Championships, five Ponoka Stampede titles, five Calgary Stampede Aggregate buckles, and four Rangeland Derby championships. He was the Rod Glass Memorial Award winner as Most Improved Outrider in 2009, the WPCA’s Top Rookie Outrider in 2008, and received the Calgary Stampede’s Outstanding Outrider Award in 2013.
Chance is the great-nephew of former driver Herman Flad and cousin to drivers Troy Flad and Darcy Flad. He is also the older brother of former outrider Cole Flad. Chance and his wife Brittany have a son, Wylder, and make their home in Arrowwood, Alberta.
