One of the most talented all-around athletes in professional chuckwagon racing today, Chad won his first show as a chuckwagon driver in 2023 at the Dewberry World Chuckwagon Races, and for the second consecutive year and had a horse named to the WPCA Equine Outfit of Excellence. He was a semi-finalist at the Battle of the Foothills in 2023 and for the second consecutive year he qualified for the Century Downs “WINNER’S ZONE” Championship Final Heat at the Century Downs World Chuckwagon Finals.
Chad won the Orville Strandquist Memorial Award for Top Rookie Driver at the 2015 Calgary Stampede, was the WPCA Top Rookie Driver in 2013, and qualified for the Rangeland Derby’s “Semi Final Saturday” in 2019. He is a two-time recipient of the WPCA’s Most Improved Driver Award. As an outrider, Chad was the World Champion Outrider in 2012, was part of two Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby Championship outfits, three Calgary Stampede Aggregate winners, and was the WPCA’s Top Rookie
Chad is a 4th generation chuckwagon competitor, whose great-grandfather Wilbur David and grandfather Ron David are former drivers, he is the younger brother to fellow driver Jordie Fike, and his mother Dona is a former WPCA chuckwagon judge. Chad and his wife Catlin have two children – Racin and Ryden – and make their home in Cremona, Alberta in the off season. Chad works for Homestead Inspections as a home inspector in the off season.
